The Interview
What motivated you to install a simulator at Matfen Hall?
Adding the simulator was about creating an all-season golf experience, one that fits alongside our spa, fine dining, and luxury hospitality offering. We wanted guests to enjoy great golf regardless of weather, and we knew it had to be powered by technology that could match the quality of the rest of the estate.
Why did you choose Foresight Sports technology over other systems?
Accuracy and ease of use were the big ones. We’d seen the GCHawk in action and were really impressed by the data quality and the overhead design. For us, it wasn’t just about adding a simulator, it was about doing it to the highest standard.
How have guests and members responded to the simulator?
It’s been a hit with all kinds of visitors. Club members love using it to work on their game, especially when the course is closed during winter. Hotel guests tend to treat it as a fun extra, many have never tried indoor golf before, so it’s something completely new. We’ve had quite a few first-time players book coaching sessions after giving it a go.
